HARD WORK PAYS OFF: Undefeated Rongos may lead NHC

COLUMBIA CITY — “The sky is the limit for Celine.”Kathleen Myers, Columbia City’s head tennis coach, believes in her No. 1 singles player. But who wouldn’t?Celine Rongos is undefeated after 14 matches, topping all Northeast Hoosier Conference opponents that she’s faced.It’s not uncommon to see a 6-0, 6-0 score next to Rongos’ name — but the wins didn’t come without hard work.“Celine doesn’t just play from March to May,” Myers said. “She works a number of hours outside the tennis season and has a very strong work ethic.”Rongos played in several matches throughout the state during the offseason, and Myers said the extra practice has helped her strategize points and become more confident in her game.To read the rest of this story, see the May 9 issue of The Post and Mail.
