SOUTH WHITLEY – Hundreds of years ago, Miami Indians called Whitley County home.
There are a lot of artifacts that point to Native American life, especially along the Eel River near South Whitley. If we dig deeper, beyond the Native American settlements, what will we find?
Archaeologist Wade Tharp, from the Indiana Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology will be at the South Whitley Community Public Library at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, July 28, to talk about Indiana and Whitley County’s archaeological past.
