COLUMBIA CITY — When going into a match, where the outcome is already decided, the difficulty lies in keeping focus. The Columbia City Eagle wrestling squad went into Wednesday’s Alumni Night match with visiting Norwell with the outcome already determined. A depleted Norwell squad was giving up forfeits in seven of 14 weight classes. The Eagles picked up wins in six of the seven contested weight classes to overwhelm the Knights 72-6.

EAGLES FALL: Free throws haunt CCHS

December 17, 2014

WARSAW — After a string of eight straight wins to open the season, the Columbia City Lady Eagles dropped their second straight contest, and for remarkably similar reasons. In a Tuesday night game that bore a striking similarity to the loss to Norwell, Columbia City problems at the free throw line and an inconsistent offense led to a 43-36 loss to Warsaw in a game played at the Tiger Den.
The Lady Eagles and the Tigers played through a very close first quarter with the lead see-sawing back and forth throughout the eight minutes.
