DOWNTOWN DRIBBLIN': Sheckler takes trophy

The Columbia City Main Street Association brought back the Big G’s 3-on-3 Tournament to downtown Columbia City this weekend. The tourney hosted 11 teams, capped off with a win by Team Sheckler: Brent Sheckler, Doug Sheckler, Caleb Sheckler and Greg Bockelman — all of Whitley County. Trucks and tractors put to the test at event

COLUMBIA CITY — Sounds of revving engines and the smell of exhaust filled the Grandstand Sunday during the Truck and Tractor Pull at the Whitley County 4-H Fair.

It was Matt Linnemeir that took first place at the 6500 Gas Modified class, after Jason Oliver tried twice to push his lime-green Chevy past the mark.

EARLY QUALIFIES FOR USATF NATIONALS: Wins twice in Regional

HUNTINGTON — Jasmine Early, of Columbia City, has continued her stellar summer of running by qualifying for the weekend for the USA Track & Field (USATF) Junior Olympic National Championship in Houston next week. Early, age 12, who will be a seventh grader this fall at Indian Springs Middle School, captured two first-place finishes Sunday competing against 13- and 14-year-old girls at the USATF Regional Championships at Huntington University.
