Columbia City’s girls tennis team recenty held its banquet and awards ceremony. GOLF: Col. City takes to the links for regional

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s boys golf team takes the next step on the road to the IHSAA state finals tournament on Thursday when the Eagles travel to Warsaw’s Stonehenge Golf Club for regional competition.

The Eagles qualified for regional play with a 303-305 win over Plymouth that gave Columbia City the sectional crown. Warsaw was the third team to qualify from the sectional. The Tigers posted a 315 score.

Columbia City’s boys track team announced its award winners at its annual banquet. Award winners from left include: Gage Emrick, Most Valuable Runner, hurdles; Heath Atkins, Most Valuable Jumper, long jump; Andrew McFarland - Most Valuable Runner- 200- and 400-meter dash and Most Valuable Participant; Noah Judd- Rookie of the Year, 400-meter dash; and Tim Hearld, Most Valuable Jumper, high jump.
