FEATHERS FLY: Busco Eagles take down Fairfield 35-20

CHURUBUSCO — It was a battle among the aerial predators Friday night as the Churubusco Eagles faced off against the Fairfield Falcons for the right to hold the coveted Birds of Prey Trophy.
Busco went into to Friday night’s game having lost six times to Fairfield in the last eight years, but the Eagles decided to put a feather — a falcon feather in their caps and defeat Fairfield 35-20.

Wildcats rebound to beat Tippy Valley

AKRON — Whitko’s football team rebounded from its first Three Rivers Conference loss to beat Tippecanoe Valley Friday night, 34-16.

The win puts the Wildcats in second place in the TRC behind Rochester, Whitko’s lone conference loss.

Eagles grab first and last NHC win of season

OSSIAN — When a football team puts up 35 points to break a six-game losing streak, it’s usually the offense that gets the glory.

Make no mistake, the Columbia City offense did its job, part of which was to keep possession to keep the potent Norwell offense on the sidelines, but this night it was four big plays by the Columbia City defense that helped spur the Eagles to a 35-34 overtime win over their Northeast Hoosier Conference foe on a brisk windy night in Wells County.
