COLUMBIA CITY — Stand-out Columbia City running back Adam Neely officially signed with the University of Saint Francis this week.
Neely was the Eagles’ running back and punter in the 2012 season, and despite breaking his leg in the second game of the season, Neely finished the year with a strong performance.
“His warrior spirit in coming back from a seemingly season-ending injury lifted up the entire team as he carried us to a victory in the sectional,” Columbia City Head Coach Randy Hudgins said.
Hudgins said Neely is a versitle player who could fill many roles for the Cougars next season.
Neely plans to study business at USF.
Neely’s commitment is the second college decision for Columbia City’s football team this season, as teammate Jared Murphy signed his national letter of intent to Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in February.
“Saint Francis is getting a great young man with a passion for life and the game of football,” Hudgins said.
