DECATUR — Indian Springs Middle School’s wrestling team suffered its first loss of the season Thursday night at Bellmont. The Eagles lost to the undefeated Braves, 47-38.
Despited the loss, AJ Chapin got ISMS off to a good start with a victory by pin.
The win was followed up with another victory by Braden Baker.
The next ISMS wrestler to record a victory was Seth Rosen in the 132-pound class. Rosen won by pin.
In the 150-pound weight class, Jacob Morse was able to pin his opponent.
In the 175-pound class, Mydrae Brown won via forfeit.
In the 195-pound class, both teams had to double forfeit.
With two matches left, ISMS had a shot at victory, but was unable to capitalize on the opportunity.
Weston Ottinger was able to close the match with a pinfall victory.
Picking up the lone victory in the J.V. match was Trey Wolfe.
ISMS will travel to Huntington Saturday to compete in the Crestview Invitational.
