COLUMBIA CITY — A vehicle from a possible abduction case in Fort Wayne was found south of Columbia City Tuesday morning.
The car, a black Chrysler, was pulled from the Blue River at approximately 11 a.m. after employees at Heavy Truck Equipment and Repair, south of Columbia City on Ind. 9, discovered the vehicle in the river.
The car was taken to Fort Wayne for police to determine how it was linked to a crime that began at Pointe Iverness Apartments.
The owner of the car was allegedly forced into his apartment and had his hands bound in duct tape. The apartment was ransacked, but police said nothing appeared to be missing.
The victim was forced into his car and the suspect allegedly dropped him off in Columbia City, before taking off in his car — the same vehicle that was found in Blue River.
According to police, the victim walked to a local gas station to report the crime, which has been turned over to FWPD for investigation.
