Rosa N. Williamson, 89, of Columbia City, died Thursday morning, May 15, 2014, at the home of her daughter, Linda.
She was born November 3, 1924, in Bashi, Ala., a daughter of William and Alma (Snodgrass) Walker. Her formative years were spent in Bashi where she graduated from high school.
Dec. 23, 1944, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Williamson. They made their home in Bashi for a year before moving to Columbia City. Mr. Williamson died Aug. 18, 1983.
She was employed at Chamberlin Products, Toad Carmen’s Canvas Shop, owned/operated Wonder Bar and lastly enjoyed being a greeter at WalMart.
Her memberships were with Eagles #1906 Auxiliary, American Legion Post #98 Auxiliary, V.F.W. Post #5582 Auxiliary, Elks and Women of the Moose.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Barbara (Dennis) Brown, Rosalie (John) Wise and Linda Sue (David Lorn) Kincaid, all of Columbia City; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and seven siblings, Lura Hunt, Mary Alice Morris, Dorothy Davis, Marvin Walker, Benny Frank Walker, Johnny Walker and Jackie Walker, all of Alabama.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Williamson Jr. and four siblings, Virginia Williams, Roberteen Hawk, Farris Walker and Myra Jean Hare.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
