COLUMBIA CITY — Adding approximately 20 teams, Whitley County 4-H Fair’s Pig Wrestling Contest gained participation and popularity this year compared to 2012.
Last year, the event was the first of its kind at the fair and had a solid response with 40 teams participating.
This year, that number increased to approximately 60.
“We’ve had a great response to this event,” said 4-H Board President Cathy Heritier. “I can’t believe the amount of people that really get into this. It’s so much fun.”
Teams of four were grouped into age categories and given one minute to catch and lift a pig onto a pedestal in the center of a mud ring.
