Roger A. Cooper, 65, Huntington, passed away at 9:36 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Parkview Huntington Hospital, Huntington.
Mr. Cooper was born July 2, 1947, in Wolf Lake, to Robert and Elizabeth Mae Orcutt Cooper. His parents preceded him in death.
Roger graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1966. He joined the U.S Navy after high school. He was currently retired from Wal-Mart as an assembler.

Dennis Robert Firestone, 60, of South Whitley, died at 6:54 a.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at his home.
He was born December 31, 1952, in Whitley County, a son of Robert G. and Mildred A. (Schneider) Firestone.
Surviving include his two children, two grandchildren and his domestic partner, Sarah Mills, South Whitley.
A memorial gathering will be held Saturday at the VFW Hall, South Whitley, from 2 to 6 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Suzanne Elizabeth Guse Morrison passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, in Huntsville, Ala. Mrs. Morrison was born Feb. 19, 1928, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Arthur and Carolyn Pehrson. She was united in marriage to Charles R. Guse June 2, 1950, in Indianapolis. They resided in Rushville, Chicago, Columbia City and Michigan City.
Dr. Guse proceeded her in death Jan. 31, 1978. Mrs. Guse married Richard Morrison April 12, 1980, at First United Methodist Church in Michigan City. They retired to Navarre, Fla. where he died Sept. 19, 2001.

Michael S. Farrer, 63, of Columbia City, passed away at 5 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home on Tri-Lakes surrounded by his family.
Born Sept. 24, 1949, in Grand Island, Neb.Mike was the son of Chauncey and Maryellen (Waddick) Farrer.
He was an independent contractor as a brick mason. He loved his family, riding his Harley and lake sports.

Rex Harold Hoover, 80, of Churubusco, passed at 10:20 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home.
Born Jan. 24, 1933, in Roanoke, he was the son of William Dale and Clarissa Mary (Harvey) Hoover.
Rex was raised in Roanoke and he graduated from Roanoke High School with the Class of 1951. He was inducted into the Huntington County Sports Hall of Fame in 1978 in basketball at the P.A.L. recreation center. He served in the U.S. Army.

Nellie Jean Bishop, 89, a former resident of South Whitley, died at 9 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester, where she had been a resident since 2010.
She was born March 13, 1924, in Fort Wayne, a daughter of the late Ralph and Sylvia (Ditton) Cullers.
She began her schooling in Fort Wayne and then the family moved to Columbia City where she completed her elementary school. She graduated from Columbia City High School in 1942.

David W. Harriett, 75, of Columbia City, passed away at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at the home of his daughter in Bluffton. He was born Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1937, in Bluffton.
He married Heidi (Wiegmann) Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000 in Bluffton. Mr. Harriett retired from Phelps-Dodge in Fort Wayne as a computer programmer. David was a 1955 graduate of Pennville High School, a member of the Pennville Masonic Lodge where he received his 50 year pin in May, and a member of the First Church of Christ in Bluffton.

Eugene E. Pflueger, 83, of Big Lake, Columbia City, passed away at 12:43 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Parkview Whitley Hospital. He was born January 12, 1930, in Fort Wayne, the son of Henry Oscar and Mildred Ruth (Dennis) Pflueger.
Surviving relatives include his wife, daughter, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters, and brother.
