DECATUR — You have to go back five seasons for the last time Churubusco girls’ basketball had two wins in November.
Tuesday night, the Lady Eagles did it for just the second time in the last five years winning at Adams Central, 47-41.
The win is the first on the road this season for ’Busco. The last victory on the road for the Lady Eagles came back in February of 2009 at Hamilton.
Depth in the backcourt pushed Churubusco to its second win of the season. Together Haleigh Gross, Kasey Gibson and Morgan Young scored 23 points and had 14 of ’Busco’s 19 steals for the game.
Young led all Lady Eagle scorers with 11.
Trailing 10-8 after one quarter, Churubusco out scored Adams Central 13-7 to lead at halftime 21-17.
With its lead cut to three points, 31-28, Churubusco used a 16-point fourth quarter to pull away from Adams Central.
The Eagles shot 40 percent from the field while holding the Jets to 27 percent.
Senior Alex Walker went 2-for-4 from three-point range to total eight points.
Other scorers were; Gross 5, Gibson 7, Melissa Bueker 4, Nicole Wormcastle 2, Audrey Miller 4, Heather Monk 6.
