Editor’s note: The following is the third of a four-part series highlighting women in businesses throughout Whitley County.

COLUMBIA CITY — If a patron happens to meet Chris Redman while visiting Redman Plumbing and Heating, Inc. in downtown Columbia City, that customer has not only found a business owner, they’ve found a friend.

“You have to have patience and always be nice to people” Chris said. “People don’t remember if you were nice to them, but they never forget if you were mean.”

Chris’s husband Mike sees the warm and friendly side of his counterpart, but also recognizes her value to the company.

“She throws awesome parties and she’s an awesome mom. She always makes people feel comfortable,” Mike said.

“I joke and say she’s really the boss around here, but actually, we couldn’t get along without her. However, it’s pretty equal between us.”

Chris and Mike work in tandem to operate their business. The partnership works both in the office and at home.
