Woman finds transformation before New Year

December 20, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — Traditionally, people circle Jan. 1 on their calendars as the day they will implement a healthier lifestyle.

Barb Ward, of Churubusco, has turned tradition on its head by beginning early.

Ward started working out at Anytime Fitness in September of this year, when she began Care2BFit, a health class that targets women.

Since that time, Ward is down four pants sizes and has seen other remarkable changes.

“I was getting out of breath coming up and down the stairs, it was going from bad to worse,” she said of her health before she started the class.
The work was not easy at first. Ward said in her first class session, she was not able to do anything. That slowly changed, though.
“It kept getting easier,” she said.

Adding a workout routine has changed Ward’s day. She heads to Anytime Fitness as soon as she leaves her job, and she says it has been worth it.
