Wildcats pummel Argos ... twice

SOUTH WHITLEY — Whitko’s baseball team only played 10 total innings in a double header in South Whitley Saturday.

The games weren’t cut short due to weather, but the Wildcats 10-run-ruled Argos in the fifth inning of both games, defeating the Dragons with crushing 22-2 and 14-0 wins.

Whitko’s Avery Robbins had 10 RBIs, four runs and three stolen bases in 10 innings.

Ethan Nicodemus also had a stand-out performance, pitching the first three innings of the opening game with four strikeouts and no runs. In the second game, he scored four runs, had four RBIs and three stolen bases.

Zach Snep closed out the first game in pitching with two strike-outs in two innings and no runs. Wyatt Wolf took over the mound in game two, with four strike-outs and two runs in four innings.

Wolf also had four runs and a stolen base on 1.000 hitting. Also with strong performances were Trey Weber with three RBIs and a .666 batting average and Avery Robins with two runs, four RBIs and a stolen base.

Whitko’s record improves to 3-1 and the Wildcats host Wawasee Tuesday at 5 p.m.
