Wildcats look to win homecoming

September 26, 2013

SOUTH WHITLEY — After an 0-2 start, Whitko’s football team has put its struggles in the past with a three-game winning streak.

More importantly for the Wildcats, the three consecutive victories have all come against Three Rivers Conference (TRC) opponents.

Whitko has scored 138 points in the three wins, including a 51-7 road win against Wabash last week.

Now, the Wildcats will welcome Northfield to the confines of South Whitley in an effort to move the streak to four in a row and stay in the hunt for a conference championship.

The Norsemen are on a two-game skid. They started TRC competition with an impressive 38-0 win against North Miami, but fell to Rochester last week and lost to Tippecanoe Valley 34-32 last Friday.

Northfield got the duke one year ago when these two squads played, beating the Wildcats by a final score of 27-21. Whitko got its last win two years ago by a final of 31-14.
