SOUTH WHITLEY — Some of Whitko High School’s students will have their artwork displayed in a 2014 calendar.

The Electric Consumer recently hosted its 16th Annual Student Calendar Contest for 2014.

The contest provides young Hoosier artists an opportunity to express themselves and develop their artistic talent while possibly earning cash prizes and state-wide acclaim.

The contest is open to grade levels kindergarten through 12th.

“Whitko High School did very well this year. We received 23 awards of merit and one calendar month cover, equaling 24 awards overall,” WHS art teacher Daniel Malicki said.

“Sophomore Reghan Craig won Best Overall for the month of October in her grade level. Reghan’s painting will be featured in the calendar. She also received $200 in prize money.”
