Whitko softball drops contest to Manchester Tuesday, 7-2

April 30, 2014

Whitko’s Aly Nicodemus reaches home plate on her home run.

On a wild blustery night, it was the Whitko Lady Wildcat offense that went cold as they fell behind early and could never catch up as they lost 7-2 to the visiting Manchester Lady Squires Tuesday night.

In the top of the first inning, the visitors jumped on top quickly.
A single by senior shortstop Sydney Snep loaded the bases for the Lady Squires.

A single by Nina Smith drove in the first of the Lady Squires runs, but a nice play at the plate cut down another Squire attempting to score. Two passed balls accounted for two more runs for the visitors in the top half of the first inning to give the Squires a 3-0 lead.
