SOUTH WHITLEY — Whitko soccer coach Jason Ehrman continues to see progress with his team. After coming off a tough 4-0 loss Wednesday night to Eastbrook, the Wildcat’s were back in action Thursday.
Three Rivers Conference opponent Rochester came calling, and after 80 minutes of play both teams settled for a draw with each team scoring two goals.
“A win would have been nice, but to play them (Rochester) to a draw was special for this team. Rochester and Manchester are probably the two best teams in our conference, and to come out with a tie is a major accomplishment,” said Coach Ehrman.
The first half had the Zebra’s scoring the only goal with senior forward Arik Shanklin finding the net at the 24:23 mark.
“I thought we came out a little sluggish at the start. Maybe that was due to playing the night before. We were a little tired, but we regrouped after our first goal and played our best soccer of the season,” said Coach Ehrman.
The second 40 minutes of play saw the Wildcat’s tie the score and then take the lead on a couple of quick goals.
