May 7, 2012

SOUTH WHITLEY — Whitko’s baseball team improved its record to 13-5 with two wins over the weekend.

The Wildcats downed Bellmont Friday, 4-3 and pummeled Southwood Saturday, 11-0.

Against Bellmont, the ’Cats slowly built to a 4-0 lead after four innings.

The Braves attempted a comeback in the fifth frame, scoring three runs. Those three runs would be the only three Bellmont scored in the game, as the Wildcats won 4-3.

Win over Southwood

Whitko’s win over Soutwood wasn’t as nailbiting, as the ’Cats tacked on four runs in the last two frames to win 11-0.

The Wildcats grabbed four runs in the first inning, setting the tone for Whitko’s offense.

The ’Cats got three more runs in the third, two in the sixth and another two in the seventh.

Whitko’s record is now 13-5 and return to action tonight at Rochester.
