Whitko advances to championship

PERU — Both Whitko’s boys and girls basketball teams are advancing to the championship games at the Peru tournament tonight.
The girls won the tournament last season and are looking to do the same this year after a 69-48 win over LaVille Thursday night.
The Lady Wildcats (5-6) face host Peru (4-7) tonight in the championship game at 6 p.m.
The boys picked up their second win of the season Thursday against Peru, 66-50.
Logan Irwin had six 3-pointers in his 34 points.
The Wildcats outscored Peru in every quarter except the second. Whitko had a 19-12 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 35-30 advantage at halftime.
The Wildcats continued building their lead through the second half, winning 66-50.
Trey Weber had 12 points and Kolton Krull and Alex Stoddard. chipped in eight points apiece.
The Wildcats face LaVille (3-3) tonight in the title game at 8 p.m.
