WCCS Board of Finance convenes

January 24, 2014

COLUMBIA CITY — Whitley County Consolidated Schools’ Board of Trustees discussed the district’s financial decisions at Monday’s meeting.

The WCCS Board of Trustees also serves as the Board of Finance, and the group made financial decisions similar to last year.

After some research, WCCS Business Manager Tony Zickgraf suggested the district keep its funds with STAR Financial.

“For the last several years we have invested with STAR Financial,” Zickgraf said. “We are constantly monitoring other financial institutions and weigh what they have to offer.”

Though Zickgraf recommended the district not leave STAR, he said WCCS should still reserve the option to change if there’s something better on the market. The board approved Zickgraf’s recommendation by a unanimous vote.
