Warm welcome

After visiting Vietnam for two weeks, Tim Davis, a Vietnam War veteran, received a hero’s welcome Monday night at New Hope Wesleyan Church where he is a member.

When he originally returned home from the war in 1968, the homecoming was anything but welcoming.

However, 45 years later, Davis was ushered from Fort Wayne International Airport to New Hope Wesleyan in a motorcade of family, friends and supporters.

At the church, Davis was greeted by more supporters, as well as state and city leaders eager to show their appreciation.

Pictured is Indiana Senator Jim Banks (left) offering his gratitude for Davis’ service.

Read an in-depth interview with Davis as well as more photos from his homecoming in The Post & Mail next week.
