January 15, 2014

As Whitko Community School Corporation plans to start renovating South Whitley Elementary School and constructing a new Pierceton Elementary School, the district will hold public meetings for community feedback. PIERCETON — Community members are encouraged to attend two special meetings regarding construction projects at Whitko Community School Corporation.

Monday, board members will hold their regular meeting at South Whitley Elementary School, starting at 6:30 p.m.

After a short agenda, the meeting will open up to discuss the remodeling project at SWES.

Plans and schematics will be made available to those who attend, and school officials will map out changes parents and students can expect.

“There will be construction going on during the school day, but we hope to have the larger portions done during the summer months,” Whitko Community School Corporation Superintendent Steve Clason said. “These meetings will show parents how we plan to continue focusing on education even in the middle of this project.”
