VOGELY TO APPEAR IN COURT: Detective booked for OWI

LARWILL — A Whitley County Sheriff’s detective was arrested Saturday for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Chuck Vogely, 60, was booked into the Whitley County Jail Saturday at 5:35 p.m.

According to police scanner traffic, Whitley County received a call from Kosciusko County on a possible intoxicated driver, headed eastbound on U.S. 30.

Vogely was stopped in the Larwill area by a Whitley County Sheriff’s deputy.

He was arrested and booked by the Indiana State Police.

Vogely was released on a $6,000, 10 percent bond at 7:40 a.m. Sunday. Vogely was scheduled to appear in court today.

According to Whitley County Sheriff Mark Hodges, a statement from Whitley County’s Prosecutor’s office is expected to be released today, but was not available at press time.
