Two men charged with domestic violence crimes

COLUMBIA CITY — A Whitley County man and one from Wabash are both being charged with several counts related to domestic disturbances over the weekend.
Anthony A. Omelian, 23 of Churubusco and Darrell W. Grizzle of Wabash were charged a variety of crimes in two separate incidents.
Omelian was arrested by the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department on Friday following a reported fight in a Churubusco trailer park.
Police were called to 6755 E. U.S. 33 and were told that the male of half of a domestic disturbance had left the scene of a physical fight on foot.
Police report they were told that Omelian had choked two different women before fleeing the scene.
Omelian had also allegedly punched one of the women.
Police said they were called back to the residence at about 3:55 a.m. and found Omelian.
Omelian was booked in Whitley County Jail on two counts of strangulation, battery and domestic battery.
He was booked into Whitley County jail on $31,500 bond.
Wabash man charged with criminal confinement
Darrell W. Grizzle of Wabash was charged on Sunday with public intoxication, criminal confinement, intimidation and battery.
According to police, Grizzle’s alleged victim to investigators that the suspect grew agitated following a party in Fort Wayne and tried to keep her from exiting a vehicle.
Grizzle also reportedly slapped the victim and grabbed her by the throat.
He was booked into Whitley County Jail on $19,000 bond.
