TRAFFIC UPDATES: Van Buren Street open; U.S. 30 in limbo?

East Van Buren Street (Ind. 205) in Columbia City was re-opened to traffic at 8:30 Friday morning following storm wastewater line repair, according to police reports.

However, as of 8 a.m. Friday morning, the resumption of repaving on U.S. 30, which INDOT and Brooks Construction had scheduled, was not in progress. Traffic was flowing normally with the exception of the bottleneck on U.S. 30 bridge construction near Morsches Park.

Officials Thursday afternoon advised motorists that "U.S. 30 repaving resumes (Friday) in Columbia City. Expect major delays."
