WHITLEY COUNTY â Whitley County Treasurer Laurell Hodges recently announced that tax payers will soon receive their tax statements for 2013, payable 2014.
Bills are expected to be mailed April 11.
The spring installment is due in May and the fall installment will be due Nov. 10.
Property owners can view the new tax amounts for their parcels at www.beacon.schneidercorp.com.
The following payment options are available:
â˘Electronic payment at www.whitleygov.com.
â˘In person at the Whitley County Treasurerâs Office, second floor of the Whitley County Government Building.
â˘By mail â all payments must be postmarked by May 12.
â˘With a credit card, by calling 1-800-272-9829. Property owners will need the parcel number and Whitley Countyâs jurisdiction code, which is 2429. A website can also be utilizes for a credit card payment at www.officialpayments.com.
However, there is a fee charged for this type of transaction.
â˘Use the drop box at the back of the County Government Center. The payment will be processed the next day.
Hodges said e-payments are encouraged. âItâs quick, easy and free,â she said. Visit www.whitleygov.com, scroll to the bottom and choose âPay Property Taxes Online.â
The Treasurerâs Office, located in the County Government Center, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.
Treasurer Hodges requests that taxpayers review their tax statements carefully.
âRemember that tax bills are mailed only once a year but can be paid in two installments,â Hodges said.
The spring coupon should be included with the May 12 installment and the fall coupon should be mailed with the Nov. 10 installment.
If property owners want a receipt for their tax payment, they must include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Late tax payments will incur penalties. Delinquent real estate taxes and penalties from the spring installment of 2012, payable 2013, that are not paid by May 12 will be eligible for tax sale in October.
Unpaid personal property or mobile home taxes and penalties from 2013 that are not paid by May 12 will go to judgment, and will be turned over to a collection agency.
