Sue Jarvis, 71

Sue C. (Ford) Jarvis, age 71, of Columbia City, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Born April 14, 1941, in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Garnet R. and Donna L. (Hammitt) Ford.
She graduated from Arcola High School, Arcola, with the Class of 1959. She retired from Verizon (previously GTE and General Telephone) after 47 years of service. She was a dedicated member of IBEW Local 723.
Survivors include siblings, Kay Ford-Sollimo of Medford, N.J., Lynn (William) Smith of Churubusco, Lee (Cheryl) Ford of Columbia City, and Coy (Marie) Hagan, Kim (Ron) Hawn both of Fort Wayne; eight nieces; four nephews; one stepson, Thomas C. Jarvis, Jr.; six grandchildren; one great-grandson and a special cousin, Judy Ford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Jarvis, Sr. and stepson, Christopher Donald A. Jarvis.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 4 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City, with visitation one hour prior to service.
Visitation will also be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco.
Memorials may be given in memory of Sue to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or St. John’s Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
