STANDING IN THE GAP: ‘Community’ created by new nonprofit in South Whitley

SOUTH WHITLEY — A newly-formed nonprofit organization has plans to unite resources, services and volunteers in South Whitley. One Community is focusing on connecting neighbor to neighbor in South Whitley, and its board of directors is working to create an environment in which individuals can engage in meaningful ways with each other and with the overall community. “We want to be a group that can build a community that promotes the positive development of the minds, bodies and spirits of its residents,” said Dane Starkey, executive director for One Community.
