SOUTH WHITLEY — Finally, South Whitley is showing signs of spring.
This means it is time for Spring Clean-Up Day slated for Saturday.
“Items must be curbside no later than 6 a.m. on (Saturday),” Clerk-Treasurer Bob Gould said.
According to Gould, there will be fees for larger items such as electronics, appliances, tires and batteries.
The following fees apply: televisions and computer monitors — $10; refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners — $10; stoves, washers, dryers and water heaters — $5; tires, varying according to size, a regular car tire (off rim) — $2; car tire with rim — $3, large tractor tire — $25; and car batteries — $2.
No refunds will be allowed.
Residents must stop by the clerk’s office and pay Gould for larger items or they will not be picked up.
