SOUTH WHITLEY â€” In a special meeting Thursday evening, South Whitleyâ€™s Town Council voted to conduct its own Nov. 8 municipal election â€“ forgoing involvement by Whitley County.
â€śGiven the filings that occurred on Friday of last week, the town will have to administer a general election in November of this year,â€ť town attorney Greg Hockemeyer said. â€śIn the past when there has been a need for a general election, the town has opted to do its own rather than pay the county to conduct the election on behalf of the town.â€ť
