South Whitley to hold own election Nov. 8

August 8, 2011

SOUTH WHITLEY — In a special meeting Thursday evening, South Whitley’s Town Council voted to conduct its own Nov. 8 municipal election – forgoing involvement by Whitley County.
“Given the filings that occurred on Friday of last week, the town will have to administer a general election in November of this year,” town attorney Greg Hockemeyer said. “In the past when there has been a need for a general election, the town has opted to do its own rather than pay the county to conduct the election on behalf of the town.”
