WOODLAN — Churubusco’s volleyball team fell to South Adams in three sets Thursday in a sectional quarterfinal match-up.

The Lady Starfires beat the Lady Eagles by a final of 25-23, 25-10 and 25-20.

The defeat leaves ’Busco with a record of 17-16 for the season.

Churubusco Head Volleyball Coach Trinda Goings said 2013 was a solid year for the program.

“We saw our volleyball IQ increase greatly,” she said. “The program is gaining respect in the conference and the area as we have posted our third consecutive winning season.”

Other highlights for the Lady Eagles, according to Goings, were two individual records being broken and the team winning the South Side Invitational for the second time in three years. ’Busco also finished tied for third in the Northeast Corner Conference.
