Shade and Shannon perform in South Whitley

August 1, 2011

Shade and Shannon

Musicians Shade Jonze (Henry Phillips) and Shannon Persinger, known as Shade and Shannon, perform at the gazebo in South Whitley as part of an ongoing performing arts program in South Whitley sponsored by the South Whitley Public Library and the Whitley County Community Foundation. The duet entertained a modest crowd on the lawn in front of the gazebo despite challenging temperatures near 90 degrees with country and western favorites by artists such as Johnny Cash, Roger Miller and Willie Nelson. The crowd was also entertained by an impressive rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean,” performed choreographically and vocally by Persinger. Phillips entertained with a versatile vocal range – as well as a “creative” use of his guitar.
