Ruth Wilson, 96

Ruth A. Wilson, 96, formerly of South Whitley died at 1:55 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Covington Manor, Fort Wayne where she had been a resident for the past several years.
She was born Oct. 22, 1916, in South Whitley, a daughter of Arthur and Ellen (Enos) Swank. Her formative years were spent in South Whitley. She graduated from South Whitley High School.
On April 16, 1936, she was united in marriage to Cranston “Cack” Wilson. With the exception of one year in Fort Wayne, they have always lived in South Whitley. Mr. Wilson died Sept. 13, 1963.
She had thirty years of service with Stumps Printing, South Whitley as an administrative assistant.
Her memberships included the United Methodist Church of South Whitley and its Helping Hands Circle, the South Whitley Literacy Club, and the Duodecim Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Glenn) Auer of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Kelly (John) Metzger, Scott (Carole) Auer, Lori (Tim) Schultz and Tim (Beth) Wilson; great-grandchildren, A.J. and Abby Metzger, Nikki Carmody, Jamie and Ali Auer, Zack and Gaven Schulz and Collin and Noah Wilson and a daughter-in-law, Alice Wilson.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark E. Wilson and a sister, Mary Feagler.
The funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. The burial will be in the South Whitley Cemetery. The visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the service at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the Mark E. Wilson Scholarship established in his memory at Mid Michigan Community College.
