TERRE HAUTE — A Columbia City cross country runner will step onto the course one more time Saturday.

Lady Eagle senior Samantha Roush qualified for the state meet, which will be this Saturday in Terre Haute.

She clinched the spot by placing seventh at the New Haven semi-state meet last Saturday.

This is the fourth consecutive year Roush has qualified. Her freshman year she was 16th, she came in seventh as a sophomore and was 24th last year.

The girls race will be at 1:45 p.m. at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute. The boys race is at 1 p.m.

Twenty-four full teams and 40 more individuals who qualified without their squad (208 runners in each race) will compete in each race over the 5,000 meter course known as one of the finest in the nation.
