Robert Phend, 83

Robert E. Phend, 83 of South Whitley, passed away at p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, in his residence.
On Dec. 13, 1929, he was born in Columbia City, to Paul and Marie (Wysong) Phend.
He married Marjorie Johnson on July 11, 1953, who survives. Robert retired from International Harvester/Navistar in Fort Wayne.
Other surviving relatives include four children, Norma Schweigel of Columbia City; Michael E. (Sharon) Phend of Pierceton, Rebecca A. Phend of South Whitley and Rose E. Phend of South Whitley; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. There are no services planned and burial will be at a later date.
The family requests memorial contributions to be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 2869 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
