Rista MacDonald, 72

Rista Jane MacDonald, 72, of Warsaw, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at the home of her mother, Juanita Krider, where she had been staying for the last two years due to failing health.
She was born Oct. 7, 1941, in Wolf Lake, a daughter of Clyde LeRoy and Juanita J. (Friend) Krider Sr.
Her formative years were spent in Collins. She graduated from Churubusco High School.
In 1953, she began working at Rogers as a meat cutter, retiring from Kroger in 2003.
In 1963, she was united in marriage to Victor H. MacDonald. They always made their home in Warsaw. Mr. MacDonald died in 2012.
Her church membership was with Collins United Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include her mother, Juanita; seven brothers, Clarence Krider of Columbia City, Donald Krider of Churubusco, Thomas Krider of Columbia City, John Krider of Merriam, Wayne Krider, Danny Krider and Gerald “Dick” Krider, all of Columbia City; four sisters, Sandi “Sis” Krider of Laotto, Dee Juillerat of Arizona, Joan Trantham of California and Peggy Trahin of Columbia City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, husband and a brother, Clyde Krider Jr.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. The burial will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. The visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to Collins United Methodist Church or Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice Home.
