Private wells: A deep subject for S. Whitley

SOUTH WHITLEY — With the cost of water impacting the wallets of South Whitley residents, one particular homeowner found a creative way to skirt the expense.

George Hathaway, of South Whitley, applied for a permit to drill a well at his property, which is located within town limits.

The cost to fill swimming pools and water lawns throughout the summer months becomes an increasing bill.

With his private well, Hathaway would be able to take care of his additional water needs without raising his bill.
