COLUMBIA CITY â€” Adding approximately 20 teams, Whitley County 4-H Fairâ€™s Pig Wrestling Contest gained participation and popularity this year compared to 2012.
Last year, the event was the first of its kind at the fair and had a solid response with 40 teams participating.
This year, that number increased to approximately 60.
â€śWeâ€™ve had a great response to this event,â€ť said 4-H Board President Cathy Heritier. â€śI canâ€™t believe the amount of people that really get into this. Itâ€™s so much fun.â€ť
Teams of four were grouped into age categories and given one minute to catch and lift a pig onto a pedestal in the center of a mud ring.
