Phyllis Monesmith, 76

Phyllis J. Monesmith, 76, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
Born in LaGrange County, Phyllis worked with Dana Corporation in Churubusco for 29 years, retiring in 1997. Her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her number one priority. She loved antique collecting and old-time county music.
Surviving are her husband, George Monesmith of Fort Wayne; sons, Ronald (Sue) Monesmith, Steven (Rachel) Monesmith; daughter, Ellen Monesmith-Gaff; sister, Linda LaRue-Fremion; brother, Teddy Garber; grandchildren, Joshua (Harmony) Monesmith, Jaimi (Bruce) Dohrman, Kristin (Chris) Hildreth, Ryan Monesmith, Lindsay (Ian) Turner, Kelsey Jensen, Levi Gaff, Alyssa Gaff, Felisha Ousley, Zachary Monesmith and Seth Monesmith; great grandchildren, Ethan, Lucas, Jaxson, Addison, and baby “PJ” Turner and niece, Mickie Jones. Phyllis was preceded in death her by father, Curtis Wilson; mother, Dorothy Garber; stepfather, Ray Garber; son, William Monesmith and brother, James Wilson.
The family would like to express their greatest appreciation to Dr. Saisuddin, Dr. Graboski and especially to Dr. Romeo who guided them through this journey and the wonderful nursing staff at the Parkview Regional Medical Center ICU.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at D.O. McComb and Son’s Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior and Pastor Bob Priest officiating.
Calling at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco.
