Peggy Glassley, 83

Peggy L. Glassley, 83, died suddenly at 4:34 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
She was born in Whitley County on Sept. 6, 1929, the daughter of Leland and Mildred (Jackson) Rouch.
Mrs. Glassley spent most of her childhood in Noble County and graduated from Albion High School.
She moved to South Whitley in 1958 and married Phil L Glassley on Oct. 13, 1973, in Angola.
They moved to Tri-Lakes in 1980 and resided there until moving into Columbia City in 1998.
She served for many years as the secretary for the South Whitley United Methodist Church and Bechtold Water Conditioning, retiring in 2000 from Coldwell Banker Real Estate.
She was a member of the Columbia City United Methodist Church, Duo Decem, Eastern Star Lodge and the Whitley County Mental Health Association.
Surviving relatives include her husband of 39 years, Phil L Glassley of Columbia City; two daughters, Rebecca Vaughn of Indianapolis and Kathy (David) Reeg of Charleston, S.C.; one son, David (Sandy) Rex of Kettering, OH; two stepchildren, Mark Glassley of Fort Wayne and Margo (Greg) Goss of South Whitley; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one sister, Patricia (Dudley) Slaten of Columbia City.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Leland Rouch and Mildred Rouch-Green; one sister, Joyce Brenner and one halfsister, Judy.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. Wednesday. All visitiations as well as the service will be held at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
Pastor David Arnold will be officiating. The burial will follow at South Whitley Cemetery, South Whitley.
Memorial donations may be given in Mrs. Glassley’s memory to Columbia City United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the Whitley County Humane Shelter. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
