COLUMBIA CITY Ââ€” At last weekâ€™s meeting, Colulmbia Cityâ€™s Common Council approved the 2014 employee salary ordinance, a yearly responsibility handled by city officials.
The employee ordinance includes a slight raise for the cityâ€™s 90 full-time employees.
Full-time employees are expected to receive a $1,040 per year bump, a raise that hasnâ€™t happened in several years.
Columbia City Mayor Ryan Daniel and Clerk-Treasurer Rosie Coyle worked together on the employee salary ordinance, which wonâ€™t raise citizensâ€™ taxes this year. Another incentive brought in by Daniel was performance evaluations of each employees.
If the employee receives a positive evaluation, they can receive an extra bonus, based on the review by their supervisor.
The bonus would be paid in January of the following year, and the amounts are to be determined yearly by Daniel, depending on the cityâ€™s budget.
