Olga Martha (Paschka) Buesching, 98, who lived a long, industrious and eventful life, journeyed to heaven on Sunday, July 15, 2012.
She was reunited with her devoted husband Fred “Fritz” Buesching, her recently departed daughter, Nancy Tucker and son-in-law Bob Tucker.
Born on Jan. 3, 1914, in Fort Wayne to Theodore and Anna (Schlink) Paschka, she graduated from Luther Institute (now Concordia Lutheran High School) and worked as a bookkeeper at a local business in the early 1930s.
On March 22, 1936, she was married at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne to Frederick Gust Buesching. Following their marriage, she and her husband farmed for more than 50 years in Lake Township where they also founded Buesching’s Peat Moss in 1947.
She was a member of Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.
While she was very proud of the five children they raised, she was most proud of “hanging onto” the family farm through the tough depression years and keeping the family together.
She will be remembered for her competitive attitude, strong will, her forthright manner and her sense of humor, especially while playing Euchre with her husband Fred. She truly lived life to the fullest and got the most out of every moment.
Surviving relatives include her four children, Kenton (Janne) Buesching of Fort Wayne, Bonnie (Al) Gore of Warsaw, Marlene Augenstein of Fort Wayne and Dr. Don (Colleen) Buesching of Noblesville; a brother Theodore (Marcella) Paschka of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren Rhonda (Todd) Jones of Pierceton, Robert Buesching of Fort Wayne, Lori Thompson of Orcutt, Calif., Michael Gore of Costa Mesa, Calif., Randy Augenstein of Leander, Tx., Daniel (Ginger) Buesching of Fort Wayne, Rene’ (Joe) Leitheim of Hamilton, River (Shandra) Augenstein of Doe Bay, Wash., Ryan (Olivia) Augenstein of Fort Wayne, Seth (Tiffany) Buesching of Noblesville, Kathleen (Scott) Mulholland of Chicago and Logan Buesching of Noblesville; 16 great-grandchildren; two nephews, Gaylord (Marilyn) Gerke of The Villages, Fla. and Gene Paschka of Fort Wayne; and a niece and caregiver Judy (widow of nephew Linden) Gerke of Leo.
