FORT WAYNE — Following its first loss in the Northeast Hoosier Conference, Columbia City softball looked to avoid slipping from conference title contention at Carroll Wednesday.
Despite 12 strikeouts on the mound, junior Lady Eagles’ pitcher Cassie Vodde couldn’t outlast the Lady Chargers late.
A two-out RBI single by Emily Catanzarite in the bottom of the sixth inning helped Carroll hand Columbia City a 3-1 loss.
