COLUMBIA CITY — The year 2013 brought one big change for a family from Whitley County. Lang Johnson and Nick Dausman of Larwill are now the parents of the first baby born in the county in 2013, their son, Cody Levi Dausman.

Cody was born on Thursday, Jan. 3 at 6:13 p.m. He was 8 pounds 4 ounces and 20.5 inches long. Cody has one sibling, his sister, Jennica, who is 7. His parents were glad to begin the new year with such joy and did not imagine that their son would be the first baby born in 2013.

At 8 pounds 4 ounces, Cody was the second-largest baby born in the Parkview system among the first babies of 2013.
