Ned Byall, 84

Ned S. Byall, 84, of Columbia City, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013.
Born in Whitley County, Ned graduated from Jefferson Center School. He served in the U.S. Army and went to Radio School in Fort Benning, Ga. He was with the 1st Cavalry Ski Patrol during the Korean War and was stationed in Hokkaido, Japan.
Ned, along with his wife, Delores, operated the family farm with the help of their son, Brent. He was a member of Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, Fort Wayne.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Delores (Adams); children, Maurie (Rosi) Byall, Marsha (Wayne) Bunker, Tammy (Ken) Sipe, all of Fort Wayne, Dave (Jenn) Byall of Warsaw, Brent (Dawn) Byall of Columbia City, Les (April) Byall of Wichita, Kan. and Angie (Brad) Prieditis of Holland, Mich.; sisters, Helen (Bob) Taylor and Patricia (John) Alexander, both of Fort Wayne; 25 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Ned was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Ruth; and brothers, Harry and Maurice.
Funeral service is 2:30 p.m., Sunday at The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Rd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Pastor Rick Hawks will officiate.
Calling is also from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may go to Grace Point Church of the Nazarene.
