MOLESTATION CASE: Pressler's meth charges on hold

February 1, 2013

Dean Pressler

COLUMBIA CITY — A man accused of dealing in methamphetamine had his court appearance pushed back due to other charges.

Dean Pressler, 39, of Larwill, was arrested in December for manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of chemicals with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia. He was in Whitley County Circuit Court Monday for those counts.

Pressler’s attorney, Jeff Arnold of Columbia City, requested additional time to address the matter. Pressler was due back in circuit court Feb. 11 facing charges of child molestation, sexual misconduct with a minor, child seduction and possession of child pornography.

Whitley County Circuit Court Judge James Heuer said the hearings could be for both sets of charges at the same time.

Whitley County’s Drug Task Force initially arrested Pressler at his residence on Dec. 21, 2012.

There was also an infant approximatley 9 months old in the house. Child Protective Services removed the infant from the residence.
